Why do I need a coach if I'm not racing?
It can be hard to find the time or motivation to get out the door, even for a short run. By learning about your schedule, preferences, and needs, I can build a personalized plan that fits your schedule. I can also help find unexpected ways to include exercise in your day.
Also, a coach provides motivation, support, and accountability to help you get going, even on those days you’d rather sleep in and skip your run.
I want to get fitter, but I hate running!
I hear this a lot! I love to run, but many people don’t or aren’t able to for medical or physical reasons. But it’s still important to include regular physical activity in your daily life.
I can put together a personalized weekly plan for you to follow. I can also work with you to find creative ways to squeeze physical activity into your schedule (raking leaves or cleaning the house counts as physcial activity? It can!)
I'm on a budget. How much do you charge?
I have plans that start as low as $29/month. I can also build a static training plan that you can use on your own without coaching.
Can you help with my nutrition?
Yes, I offer nutrition coaching services either as a standalone service or in conjunction with run coaching. Check out the Nutrition Coaching page for details.
What distances do you coach?
I focus my coaching on road and trail races from 5K to 25K. Let me know if you’re targeting a longer distance and we can discuss your plans.
Do you believe in "no pain, no gain?"
It depends. If you’re an athlete trying to push yourself to a personal best (PB) or long distance, then you’re probably going to experience some discomfort along the way.
But for folks who just want to get in some physical activity to feel better? No way! You definitely do not need to be in pain to make gains.
Why is your business called Graphene Fitness?
Graphene is a layer of carbon atoms that can be combined with other substances to form composite materials that are stronger and lighter than carbon fiber. Combining my coaching with your own unique abilities can help realize your fitness goals by creating a healthier, stronger you.
Can you do in-person coaching?
I conduct most of my training digitally using a workout planning system, email, and video calls. Give me a shout if you’re in northern Indiana and would like in-person coaching.
